Kakhonung is an exclusive product where the honey is not thrown away but left in the wax cake. This means less processing of the honey and therefore also the very freshest form of honey you can consume.
Facts about wax cakes:
Wax cakes are antibacterial and made of hexagonal cells that honey bees build from beeswax to store honey, pollen and brood. The wax cakes and their contents are therefore an important element in the life of honeybees. Each beekeeper makes sure to harvest only a percentage of the honey-filled wax cakes contained in the hives.
The wax that the bees produce can also be used for other purposes, for example making beeswax salve or beeswax candles.
